Making the Fireplace a Focal Point of Any Room

A fireplace can add a sophisticated focal point to any room.

The fireplace has been a source of heat and comfort since nearly the beginning of time. However, it was not until the Victorian period that the fireplace came into its own as a decorative focal point to a home.

Today,  fireplaces come in all shapes and sizes from built-in fireplaces with a chimney to portable fireplaces that can be easily installed flush against a wall using mounting brackets.

Homeowners can choose from many different types of heat sources as well including natural gas, wood, electric or gel fuel.

With the use of stone, brick, marble or even stainless steel, a fireplace can add a unique and sophisticated touch to any design style from contemporary to traditional.
