Fabric Choice Completes the Look of a Room

You have painted the walls a perfect color, chosen an outstanding rug and decided on terrific furniture. But, there is still a certain “something” missing in the room.

Your room needs depth. And depth comes with fabric choice. From bedding to curtains to pillows, fabric gives a room warmth and a sense of completion.

Here are a few examples of how CHERYL MCCRACKEN INTERIORS has chosen fabrics that add that finishing touch to a few of our clients’ spaces:

The inspiration for this small den came from the chair you see on the right. We decided on a Duralee silk plaid fabric for the curtains and added Philip Jefferies grass cloth wallpaper with an off white sofa to keep the room light and airy but still cozy.

By using the oriental rug our client already had as the cornerstone for this room, we were able to add a Vervain Drapery fabric for window coverings and a blue Duralee fabric to go on the Drexel Dining room chairs. We matched the chairs to the walls by painting a faux stripe.

This young client had her heart set on pink and black. We started with pink walls and black accent paint on the white window seat.We wanted to really make the window seat the focal point of this room. So, we added black polka dot and pink check Pindler Fabrics on the windows and black ,pink and white stripe Norbar Fabric accent pillows along the window. We think this turned out to be an adorable space!

It is easy to see where inspiration came from in this young man’s room! New England Patriots colors no less!! We added Duralee fabric in Patriot colors for window treatments and a bold comforter on the bed to complete this look. He now has the perfect place to watch Sunday Night Football!
