Welcome to the first installment of ASK THE DESIGNER!
This month’s question is from a reader who has a problem with her daughter’s bedroom:
My daughter’s room is very small, but has high ceilings (10ft vaulted ceiling). Her twin size bed takes up a third of her room! She has very little space for toys and her dresser. Any suggestions on ways to make her room “roomier”? Thanks so much for your help!
Thanks for the question! Here are a few ways to help:
There are many choices of bed frames that have storage for all ages. Such as a bed frame that has a bookcase/ shelf for a headboard and 2 drawers under the bed which would give her a place for books ,toys extra clothes etc. They come in many styles and colors.
Another option would be to have some custom built-ins made to accommodate all your storage needs. Having high ceilings will definitely be an advantage!
You could also paint the ceiling and walls all the same color (preferable a lighter color) which would make the room appear larger as well.
Hope this helps and good luck!
